History of the competition
The origin of the Formula Student goes back to 1981, when the "Society of Automotive Engineers", in the United States of America, organized the first edition. Ten competitions around the world were organized in the year 2010. Five of them were held in Europe (United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Austria and, for the first time, Spain) and the other five took place in the United States, Brazil, Australia, Japan and Korea.
The competitions are conducted under nearly all the same rules and regulations, allowing the teams to participate in several different competitions with little or no modifications to their work.
