VOLUNTEERS

GENERAL INFORMATION for all the volunteers:

  • OFFICIAL LANGUAGE: English
  • DATES: From August 4th to 10th
  • PLACE: Circuit of Montmeló, Barcelona, Spain
  • FOOD: It will be provided by the organisation
  • CLOTHES: T-shirts necessary for the event will be provided by the organisation
  • ACCOMMODATION: In case that you need it, the organisation will accommodate you. There are different camping areas inside the circuit.
  • SPIRIT: We all have to work together to perform FSS25. In order to this, the volunteers have to be open-minded to support other areas if it is needed. 
  • AGE: All volunteers have to be over 18.

If you are selected, you will receive an email confirming your participation and explaining the next steps of the process.

STAFF

Being a member of Staff team is your solution!

Staff volunteers are the people in charge of giving support to the whole event. 

There are so many different tasks they develop like event support, team advisor, event assemble, among others. Moreover, as a Staff volunteer you will support, in case it is needed, other volunteer’s areas developing tasks where previous experience is not required. This position is especially designed for those people who want to know more about Formula Student or want to participate as a team member on next editions. It is a perfect occasion to learn and enjoy. You will acquire a lot of abilities and one of the most important ones will be working as a team. Taking part of the Staff crew means living the event from inside and be a part of it. So, if you want to feel the real experience of Formula Student, join us!

MEDIA

You can’t live without a camera and you are all time taking photos or videos/?

You have to be a part of our Media department!

Being a part of media consist in covering all the event, catching all the moments of the competition. All the media material will use to produce videos and upload photos on our Social Networks, son show us your creative side!

Moreover Media have the privilege to be in contact with sponsors, volunteers, teams trying to show all the event to the rest of the world.

MARSHALL

Do you like adrenaline?

If you like formula student cars, you want to see the dynamic events on a privilege position and you don’t care being the whole day under the sun of Montmeló, this is your role!!

Marshall’s volunteers are the people on track, who take care of the dynamic events.

This role is split in two categories (Junior/Senior):

  • Junior category: It refers to these volunteers with low experience on Formula Student (students who will participate in a formula student project on next years)
  • Senior category: It refers to these volunteers with huge experience on Formula Student.
  • Rescue Team: In case that you have a huge background on Formula Student you will be proposed as a member of the Rescue Team.
 
  • Previous experience participating in previous editions or other formula student competitions.
  • Camping accommodation
  • You will receive specific Marshall trainings

JUDGE

Do you want to discover and analyse Formula Student projects from inside?

If you are a Formula Student expert this is your position!

Judge members will make an assessment of formula student cars, which will take part of the winner’s determination of static events.

The static events take part during the week from Monday to Wednesday (to define).

Judge roles are divided into three different categories:

  • Cost & Manufacturing: Analytics of cost tables background
  • Business Plan: Significant background in economics, marketing, financial and business sectors.
  • Design: Experience in different engineering systems development

On the application form, you will have to choose which category of judge you are interested in, and explain carefully all about your previous experience in Formula Student. Moreover, for the judge role, your current position job is also important.

In all cases, the volunteer has to have a big experience on Formula Student as an ex-team member or participating in previous editions or other Formula Student competitions as judge. Please describe carefully your experience on Formula Student and your current work position on the Application Form.

  • Experience in Formula Student as a team member or participating in previous editions or other Formula Student competitions as a judge.
  • Ex-member of a team (valuable)
  • Working on a sector related to judge role (valuable)
  • Taking part of the decision of which teams are the winners for the statics events
  • Evaluate the formula student cars, and discover the secrets of the vehicles, sharing the experience of all the judges.

SCRUTINEERING

Do you know how to spot critical points and do some technical evaluation?

If you have a technical profile and like to discover what hides inside a formula student vehicle, then this is your option!

Scrutineers are the responsible to verify if the car meets the Formula Student rules.

Also, this position is related to safety, so you will have to pay a lot of attention verifying if the car complies with all both technical and safety requirements.

Scrutineers have different internal positions and you will have to choose which fits better with your background:

-Mechanical                 -Electrical

      -Driverless                    -Accumulator

Technical Inspection will take place from Tuesday to Friday, and the pre/post Technical Inspection for the dynamic events will be done on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

You are invited to participate as much days as you can, nevertheless places will be assigned according to availability.
