Formula Student is an international engineering competition where university teams from around the world conceive, design, manufacture, develop, and compete with small formula-style race cars.
It provides students with a comprehensive, real-world professional experience, promoting academic and technical excellence across all aspects of the automotive industry, from research and design to testing, development, commercialization, and finance.
Formula Student Spain is the national competition of this global event, held since 2010 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
It is organized under the remit of the Spanish Society of Automotive Engineers (STA) and supported by key public institutions and companies within the automotive sector.
The competition is organized and conducted as a non-profit event, with all proceeds and efforts dedicated solely to supporting and developing the educational experience.
The organizing team and volunteers who support each edition work together as committed volunteers to ensure a high-quality event that enables students to apply their knowledge practically while preparing for professional careers.

A leading circuit since 1991
Formula Student Spain is held at the renowned Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya in Montmeló, near Barcelona. Since its inauguration in 1991, the circuit has hosted prestigious events including the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix, the MotoGP Catalan Grand Prix, the WorldSBK, and the FIA eTCR, among others. Its rich motorsport heritage and state-of-the-art facilities make it a distinguished venue on the international racing calendar, attracting participants and spectators from around the world.
